These type of houses have been around for a long time in Greek villages.... Around 150 years i would say at least...They still make them like that in some areas, so i guess it's old and new at the same time!!lol

I am an architect and have built models in the past. Typically, an architectural model wouldn't be this detailed.
Nor would they build a model for a new project that has this kind of aged apearance.
So I was wondering what this model would be used for. HO scale tells me that it may be for a train set???
Hardiback has a raised grid like that and I was wondering if you used it for its strength. I guess not.
Overall, a fantastic model.

Thanx for your kind words....I get it now...Yes, this is not a typicall architectural
model (like the ones i've built over the past years).HO is the most popular scale for train dioramas, you are right. This model is for a train set, hence the detail and weathering effects..These guys love detail..the more detail, the better..This particular
project is about building a Greek traditional village with houses, town hall, tavern, church, post office etc.. As for the construction of the house i used a 3mm pvc sheet and then added about 2mm of apoxie sculpting clay to make the stone surface..The walls were
glued together using crazy glue (zap-a-gap type of glue). The roof was removable for casting purposes as well as the base, staircase and chimney..There was no need for adding something extra for strenght...thanx for asking!!

I'm not quite sure i get your question, but i'll try my best to answer...
Everything is built from scratch, including what you reffer to as "hardibacker board"..
Some pvc sheets were used, clay, putty and a lot of other stuff...All was handmade...
This model is the first one from a new series of traditional houses that will be built by me and will be available at a model shop in Athens,Greece... Hope i got u covered....
If u have any more questions feel free to ask...thanx for looking
